Sonu's Journey

In 2005, Dr. Sonu Bhargava was hospitalized after an episode of Pericarditis and acute Renal Failure. Bedridden for nearly two months with an uncertain future, she began writing ABC Revisited for her 8-month-old son—not knowing if she would survive to see him grow up. What started as a mother's gift has become a transformative tool for families and educators worldwide.

As a dentist, patient advocate, and kidney transplant recipient, Dr. Bhargava brings unique perspectives to teaching life skills. Her experience living with kidney disease, undergoing dialysis, and receiving a transplant deepened her commitment to helping others develop resilience, hope, and the tools to navigate life's challenges. She has partnered with schools to pilot ABC Revisited programs and works with UCLA and kidney conferences to advocate for patients facing chronic illness.
