Dictionary Definition
To be superior to; surpass in accomplishment or achievement
Industrialist, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group
To excel, is a choice you make. You can choose to do something without investing your thoughts and energy into it or else you can choose to be creative, think laterally and create something out of the ordinary. Excellence is not the preserve of a few. A labourer can choose to do his work with passion and in the best possible way—and enjoy it too. I believe that one has to make excellence a habit. It is an ongoing journey rather than itself. To excel requires that you go the extra mile, invest a little more of yourself than one normally would. Most important, it requires a frame of mind—that is positive thinking, wanting to achieve the extraordinary and to enjoy the feeling of having excelled.
