In 2005, I was hospitalized after an episode of Pericarditis and acute Renal Failure. After being bedridden for almost two months, I was desperate to get out. Like athletes who visualize winning a race to improve their performance, I used to visualize that I was walking. Soon after, I gained enough strength to move my feet while I was still in bed. I believe this visualizing exercise helped accelerate my recovery and I was soon able to get back on my feet.
